Oral Physiology: recognition to swallow

Eating is a basic pleasure in life and is automatically performed in daily life. This course will educate ”sensory-motor interaction” during diet, such as sensory inputs to muscular reactions. The effects of pain and mental stress on the eating performance will also be explained. There will be some laboratory work and small experiments that the participants will join.

Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (DC/TMD): The world standard of diagnostic criteria for TMD

In 2014, the updated version of diagnostic criteria for temporomandibular (DC/TMD) was released. The most merit of DC/TMD is to have good enough reliability. DC/TMD is now a gold standard method to diagnose Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) in both clinic and research field. This course provides the knowledge of world standard of diacnostic criteria for temporomandibular disorders. During the course, the participants will be trained (caribrated) how to perform the examination of TMD.

Although TMD has been popular in both clinic and research fields for a decade, etiology and treatments have not been fully understood. This course provides the knowledge of world standard of Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (DC/TMD), etiology (risk factors), and its treatments. This course would also refer to apnea and relations to TMD.
